Shellharbour Junior Football CLub

reBooted

Our Myimbarr fields have over 2000 football boots touch them every season; and that’s just the Shellharbour players. Kids grow faster than we want and sometimes that means you are taking a trip down to the local sports store to buy another pair of boots while the other ones are thrown into a dark closet, or worse, taken to landfill. This is a cost to not only your wallet, but to the environment.

Rehome your boots to another shellharbour player

Shellharbour Junior Football Club is committed to the community, the players and the environment. To reduce our bootprint, SJFC is introducing a program to help rehome or repurpose used football boots. You can donate the boots that your kids have grown out of and find them a new home with another Shellharbour player. Then at the select times throughout the year we will organise these boots into sizes and you can come down and take a new pair for free.

Step 1

Drop Off

Bring your clean boots on any game day and drop them into our reBOOTED recycling bin found in the home shed or near the game sheets.

Step 2

Rehome

We sort through the boots and will have multiple days throughout the year where you can come and take a free pair. Keep an eye on our Facebook.

Step 3

Recycle

Any boots that are not rehomed will be donated to Tread Lightly where they will be repurposed into other products like gym mats and playgrounds.

All donated boots must be clean. We can accept boots that are falling apart as they will be sent away to Tread Lightly to be recycled.

Keep an eye on our Facebook page for the next rehoming day where we will have the boots out and organised ready for you to come and collect. These days will be before the start of the season as well as a few times throughout the season.
