Shellharbour Junior FOotball Club

Lend a Helping Boot

Sport can be very expensive with the registration fees, insurances, equipment, travel and other associated costs. We understand that not all families can afford to register their child in a sporting club due to the financial pressures this may put onto the family. In 2025, we have partnered up with Steel City Beverages and they have generously agreed to cover the cost of registration for some of our local families who may be doing it tough this year.

Whats it all about

The program will pay for the full cost of registration for approved applicants.

All requests will be reviewed and SJFC executive will allocate the funds based on individual applications. All applications are dealt with confidentially and will only be made known to the SJFC executive committee.

Please note that this program does not cover the cost of playing equipment but we are looking at starting a "Pass it Forward" program shortly. Acceptance to the Lend a Helping Boot program does not guarantee acceptance into the Pass it Forward program and if you are accepted then you are still expected to cover the cost playing equipment. We may be able to provide additional support as we do have other programs and connections locally if you feel you are unable to afford the cost of the equipment. Please email [email protected] if you have any questions.

Requirements

The program is open to anyone to apply but preference will be given to people who meet the following criteria:

- Lives within the local area (within 20km's of the Myimbarr)

- Has legitimate reason for requiring financial assistant (see submission form for examples)

- Can provide evidence of your claim on request.

To ensure the validity of your application we will require evidence of your claim. No evidence is required until you have been accepted into the program.

This will be read by our sub-committee to help decide where our limited funds will go. Please note that if you are not accepted, it is not because we do not think you deserve help, the sub-committee is tasked with allocating limited funds to the people who they determine most need it.
