Grassroots football
MiniRoos Club Football is for boys and girls aged 5-11 years old who want to have fun while learning new skills. The smaller format with modified rules provides a more enjoyable game for children with more opportunities to score goals and run with the ball.
As your child progresses through the age groups they will be challenged with new rules and larger teams to suit their stage of development and prepare them for 11v11 football from 12 years and older.
Everyone to play
MiniRoos encourages children of all ability and experience to get involved. Whether your child has never seen a ball or they were born with a ball at their feet, MiniRoos is the perfect way to introduce your child to team sports. MiniRoos is about building the foundations of football in children by providing a fun and social atmosphere.
At Shellharbour Junior Football Club we are proud to have one of the Illawarra's largest range of teams with plenty of space for your child to join a team.

At Shellharbour Junior Football Club we are lucky enough to have an Intra-club competition. This means that every week your games will be at our home field and are usually the same time early on a Saturday morning.
At this age group the goal is to introduce the kids to the game and get them confident being on the field and taking directions from their coach. Training usually involves some fun games for the kids to play and they will learn some vital skills to take with them throughout their football career.
U8 & U9 At SJFC

Our U8 and U9 games are an inter-club competition held on Saturday morning. You will travel to local clubs in the area to play different teams and introduce your child to different fields.
You will notice the kids start to get a little bit more competitive and are excited to score against a goal keeper. The kids will start to be introduced to throw ins and corner kicks and fouls and penalties are now part of the game.
U10 to U12 At SJFC

U10, U11 and U12 players will start to get the feel for competitive football with the 9-a-side format and the larger field. This is where the kids can start to show what they have learnt over the last few years or can join to get a feel for football before the competitive age groups start.
Shellharbour Junior Football Club is proud to state that we usually have at least 1 all girls team in each age group entered into an all girls competition, just showing our commitment to growing women’s football in our club.
